FAQs
Can't find your answer? Our team is happy to help you choose the right system.
What size portable power station do I need?
Add up the running watts of everything you want to power at the same time. The station's output (W) must be higher than that total, and appliances with motors such as fridges and pumps also need surge headroom.
For runtime, divide the battery capacity (Wh) by your load (W) and allow for roughly 15% inverter loss. A 2,000 Wh station runs a 150 W fridge for about 11 hours.
What is the difference between a power station and a solar generator?
A portable power station is the battery and inverter unit. A solar generator is a power station bundled with solar panels, so it can recharge from the sun as well as from a wall outlet or car.
Can a power station back up my whole home?
Yes, with the right system. High-capacity units such as the Jackery Explorer 5000 Plus, Anker SOLIX F3800 and E10, or EcoFlow DELTA Pro Ultra connect to your home panel through a transfer switch or smart home panel. Many can be expanded with extra batteries. Have a licensed electrician install the transfer switch.
Can I use solar panels from a different brand?
Often, yes, as long as the panel's open-circuit voltage and connector match the station's solar input specs. Same-brand panels are the simplest option because the connectors and voltages already match.
